communities of Australia with the Brian Young Tour following the footsteps
of Beccy Cole and Troy Cassar-Daley.
The spotlight then focused on the release of her debut 5 track EP So Far.
The title track Big Girl Now was the perfect introduction to Cat’s world –
contemporary and strong – making Top 20 on the Top 100 Country Hits and No.
25 on the CMC Video Chart. Another track That’s The Kinda Man I’m Looking
For also received strong chart support.
2006 started with a bang, after Cat was named Toyota Star Maker. When she
released the official Toyota Star Maker EP titled Last First Kiss, the
response proved once again why Cat is Australia’s best new talent. This EP
shows the growth in Cat as an artist, with original songs Last First Kiss
and Skin Deep, penned by herself and talented writers Jay Collie and Jasper
Somerville-Collie. The EP also features Cat’s version of the classic Slim
Dusty song Memories And Dreams. Also plucking Big Girl Now and That’s The
Kinda Man I’m Looking For from the So Far EP, rounded off the Toyota Star
Maker release for 2006. Cat has also released a film clip for the single
Last First Kiss on Foxtel’s Country Music Channel (CMC). Once again Cat’s
music got massive amounts of airplay on country and commercial radio
stations Australia wide. Cat had her first Top 10 song on the Top 30 Country
Tracks Charts with Last First Kiss, this only confirming that Cat has a huge
future within Australian Country Music and internationally. Cat also hit the
AIR Charts with the EP Last First Kiss Debuting at No. 18.
