Meet Johnny Rabb and the JailHouse Rockers

     Johnny Rabb

Albany's own King of Rock and Roll, Johnny Rabb is one of the Capital Regions most respected and well loved musicians. Rabb is in a league all his own, a world class entertainer and showman who sings from the gut with his own brand of roots, rock, rockabilly, and plenty of Elvis.

Based in Waterford New York, Rabb has had a wide and varied career with international recognition. He has opened for Stevie Ray Vaughn, Southside Johnny, The Rascals, The Shirelles, The Shangri-Las, Marshall Crenshaw, Marcia Ball, Rick Derringer, NRBQ, and Sun Ra. He has played at the prestigious Saratoga Performing Arts Center, and appeared in movies, Heart of Dixie, American Hot Wax, and The Warriors.

His band has always been hot, often featuring long time friend and colleague Eddie Angle (of Los Straight Jackets) on guitar, or guitarist David Malachowski (X-Shania Twain) and often legendary singer/guitarist John Tichy (of the original Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen). Rabb can often be found sitting in with Cody and the Airmen when they're both in the same town. The late English sax man Gary Windo (x-Pink Floyd, Psychedelic Furs) was also a frequent cohort.

His band The Jail House Rockers routinely blows the roof off nightclubs as well as events like Lark Fest, and Carolina Street Block Party. The aforementioned John Tichy is usually onboard as well as other fine area musicians. Always rockin, always danceable, and always too much fun. They say Johnny Rabb's always in the midst of the action, most often he is the cause of it.
