Hello,

     My name is Don Hempstead and I was blessed with the opportunity to be your Webmaster for the “Rock For Tots” program. I would like to share the inspiration behind this project.

     In August 2004, our Families went on vacation together camping in Maine for a week. We had a wonderful time. A conversation Andy and I had one evening touched me deeply. He explained what the “Rock For Tots” program was all about and how it had begun. I told him how nice it was for everyone involved to be doing this for children less fortunate and shared a story of my own with him.

     You see, as a youngster I lived in Saint Colman’s Home for Boy’s and Girl’s. It was an orphanage that was home to about 500 less fortunate children. Each year at Christmas time the employee’s from the Bare Manning Paper Company in Waterviliet New York would hold a toy drive, and just before Christmas all of us children would board buses and go to the Bare Manning Paper Company for a fabulous Christmas party. The employee's donated their time to set up for entertainment, and then a dinner party with Santa. I can remember hearing the Reindeer landing on the roof as my heart began to race and Santa entered the room. Every child’s name was called out, and we went up to see Santa and received a package of many gifts. I can tell you from the Heart, that  the “Rock For Tots” program can and will make a difference in a child’s life. Being part of the "Rock For Tots" program has been an honor and truly a Blessing for me.

     After four years now looking back at the Rock For Tots growth and realizing just how many people truly care for the future of our children it is heart warming. There are laterally hundreds of people that make this all possible. From individuals, to companies, to musicians from around the globe. We are making a difference and will continue to grow with your support.
